Benefits of Infrared Saunas

Detox Your Body

Infrared saunas promote effective detoxification by helping your body eliminate toxins through the skin. Unlike traditional saunas, infrared heat penetrates deeply, encouraging a thorough cleanse that supports overall health and wellness.

Natural Weight Loss

During an infrared sauna session, your core body temperature rises, causing your body to work harder to cool itself. This natural process stimulates a healthy sweat, supporting calorie burn and aiding in weight loss.

Pain Relief

Infrared saunas provide deep, penetrating heat that helps relax tight muscles and soothe achy joints. This warmth improves flexibility and eases stiffness, making it an effective natural method to support recovery from physical activity or chronic discomfort.

Deeper Relaxation

The soothing warmth of infrared heat helps calm your nervous system by reducing tension and promoting mental clarity. This gentle heat envelops your body, encouraging deep relaxation that can help reduce stress and improve sleep quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Infrared Sauna FAQ

What is an Infrared Sauna and how does it work?

An infrared sauna uses infrared light to heat your body directly, rather than heating the air like a traditional sauna. This type of heat penetrates deep into your muscles and tissues, raising your core temperature and inducing a natural, detoxifying sweat. The result is enhanced circulation, reduced inflammation, muscle relaxation, and a deep sense of overall well-being.

Is an Infrared Sauna safe?

Yes, infrared saunas are safe for most guests when used properly. The infrared light used is non-ionizing and does not contain harmful UV rays. Sessions are generally well-tolerated and comfortable. Our staff is trained to ensure a safe and relaxing experience.

Do Infrared Saunas support the immune system?

Yes, regular infrared sauna sessions can help support a stronger immune system. The rise in core body temperature during a session mimics a mild fever, which is a natural immune response. This process can stimulate white blood cell production and improve circulation, helping your body detect and fight off potential illness more efficiently. Many guests use the service proactively during cold and flu season to help stay well.

Does an Infrared Sauna burn calories?

Yes, infrared sauna sessions can help your body burn calories. As your core temperature rises, your heart rate and metabolism increase, similar to the effects of moderate exercise. Studies suggest a single session can burn anywhere from 200 to 600 calories, depending on factors like session length, heat level, and individual metabolism. While it is not a replacement for exercise, many guests use it to complement their fitness and wellness routines.

Do Infrared Saunas help with pain relief?

Yes, infrared sauna sessions are commonly used to reduce muscle soreness, ease joint pain, and speed up recovery after physical activity. The deep, penetrating heat increases blood flow and helps flush out metabolic waste, which can reduce inflammation and support tissue healing. It is a popular service among athletes and guests managing chronic pain.

What temperature should I use?

If this is your first time in an infrared sauna, the best temperature to start at is 100°F. Once you are comfortable you can start to increase the temperature. We will gradually increase it up to 150°F, which is on the higher end of a sauna. Let your bio/synergy team member know if this is your first time trying this therapy.

Do I need to bring anything?

We recommend you wear gym clothes inside the sauna and bring an extra set of clothes to change into after. Make sure to hydrate before and after using the sauna to avoid becoming dehydrated. For the best hydration solutions, check out our iV Infusions!

Does using an Infrared Sauna support longevity?

Research suggests that regular infrared sauna use may contribute to long-term wellness and longevity by improving cardiovascular health, reducing chronic inflammation, and supporting detoxification. Some studies have linked sauna use with lower risks of heart disease and mortality. While it is not a cure, many guests include infrared sauna sessions as part of a proactive, long-term health strategy.
